Both places are just across the street (westerly) from Caliente race track.

This route along the railroad tracks has the advantage of being away from the bustling noise of Tijuana traffic. Sections of this walk are somewhat isolated and there is no lighting, so I'd recommend doing this walk in the daytime. The beginning of this walk is particularly uncharming, but it improves greatly, culminating in the view of the beautiful Valparaíso Spa.

From "Border, East"

Turn right (south) and follow the sidewalk. Walking south on the sidewalk, after 30-60 feet the sidewalk curves to the left (east), follow it. From here the sidewalk goes straight for about one block, keep following it until the road ends. Turn right here and go straight for another block. (On this block you will need to walk on the west side of the street, as there is no sidewalk on the east side.) At the intersection you will see a sign that says "Col. Libertad, Ave. Ferrocarril." Turn left and walk about 75 feet to the railroad tracks, turn right (southeast) and keep following the railroad tracks for about 3 miles. When you see the golden dome of the Valparaíso Spa on your left, take the sidewalk along the railroad tracks across the river. Keep walking along the tracks until you get to the intersection (for cars) with the street light on your right. Exit the railroad here and cross the street. You will see some brown buildings a short distance away, walk towards them. Keep walking a few blocks to Agua Caliente Blvd. and cross it at the light. Turn left when you reach the sidewalk, and it is another block to Tapachula; turn right. Merlot Bistro is one-quarter block down the street .

Manhattan

Continue walking down Tapachula past Merlot Bistro. At the end of this long block, turn left and walk 1/2 way down the block to find Manhattan Ristorante on your right
