Trolley Stop to Taxi Stand just inside border:

San Diego
   Trolley at San Ysidro

Get off the trolley at the end of the line in San Ysidro, follow the crowd Westward, over the footbridge attached to the Immigration & Customs Building. The footbridge passes over interstate 5 and you can look to your right from the top of the bridge and see the line of cars waiting to enter Mexico; on your left you will see an even longer line of cars waiting to exit Mexico. As the ramp descends, it loops around so you are facing East. When you reach street level again, turn right (south) and go through the turnstiles and you're in Mexico! Keep walking in a straight line southerly, walk through another turnstile and when you exit you will be close to a cluster of taxicab vendors and will see a large yellow sign, "Taxis and Buses."

To "Border, East"

Take the Pedestrian Ramp back Over the Vehicular Traffic

At this point you should see on your left the entrance to another pedestrian ramp, attached to the immigration & customs building, that crosses over traffic coming into Mexico from Interstate 5. Turn left onto this ramp and go over it. Everyone will be walking in the same direction you are walking. When you come off the ramp, turn left and walk a few feet to the marked pedestrian lanes you use to to cross the large number of lanes of vehicular traffic exiting from Mexico. Cross all lanes of vehicular traffic and step up onto the sidewalk. To the left you will see vendors selling pottery, etc. There is a yellow sign there that says "border USA."
