One of two eating establishments in the Hotel Lucerna.
This patio restaurant has a very pleasant ambiance. Two walls of the dining room are made of glass and look out onto the lovely aquamarine pools in the courtyard. For an even closer look at the pool, dine under the stars in the courtyard.
The food and service at Rivoli is first-rate.
For appetizers: The french onion soup in cruet with gruyere cheese for 70 pesos is quite delicious and pictured below. The Ceasar salad (not prepared tableside) was fresh and delicious, 85 pesos. We didn't have room to try the Argentinian small pie, filled with stewed beef, almonds and mozarella for 80 pesos, but it sounded lovely. The roasted asparagus and portabello mushrooms were great.
The San Naepolitan Chicken Breast was stuffed with ham and parmesean cheese and served with pasta liberally embellished with a variety of fresh vegetables for 170 pesos. The Northern Arrachera, pictured below, was perfectly grilled and accompanied with guacamole, green onions and some great beans. The coconut shrimp (5 large) came artfully arranged with the mango chutney all over it was bit sweet, you might want to ask for the chutney on the side. It was delicious though, very coconutty. The grilled pineapple served with it was out of this world. The mixed vegetables that came with it were expertly cooked. Coconut shrimp was 210 pesos. The grilled Juicy Lamb chops were also perfectly cooked, pink inside - served with rosemary potatoes for 250 pesos. Delicious !
There are 4 pasta dishes on the menu for under 150 pesos, one served with squid, basil and tomatoes and a lasagna made with veal that sounds great.
