I'm sad to report that the Hungry Hiker's have been on a hiatus (since Fall '08) due to the drug-related violence in Mexico. We've never had a bad experience there, but the number of murders is at historic highs due to the government's serious attempt to rein in drug trafficing. Most of the violence is away from the touristy areas, and between rival drug groups, but nonetheless, it has given us pause. We hope things settle down soon, at which point we'll resume our visits.
